Viwinco Windows is pleased to provide all of the casement and fixed casement windows, as well as the patio doors, for NextGen Home TV’s “First to the Future Home” series, hosted by Ty Pennington.

Viwinco’s windows were selected for the Pennington project because they’re part of the company’s OceanView® certified, impact-resistant product line. This makes them a perfect fit for the energy-efficient, storm-resistant construction of the home. Each window contains Viwinco’s high-performance glass package, comprised of a double pane of laminated glass, one pane of tempered Solarban® low-e glass, an Intercept® Ultra Spacer, and argon gas fill. The combination of laminated and tempered glass fortifies the window against extreme hurricane conditions such as high-velocity wind and flying debris. Since Viwinco laminates and tempers our glass in house, we control the source. The most technologically advanced material is used, and the most stringent quality control processes are emphasized.

To test impact products, an 8-foot 2x4 is shot out of a computerized canon at 50 feet per second. After the impact, the window is subjected to thousands of cycles of severe wind loading to ensure it will hold up to both positive and negative pressures. OceanView® windows meet a structural wind speed rating of 171.2 mph and have a design pressure rating of DP50 or higher, depending on the style.

Viwinco was also selected to supply all the windows for NextGen’s iModule home, showcased onsite at the 2014 International Builder’s Show and Kitchen and Bath Industry Show. For more information about both projects, please click the links below.
