How to Install & Adjust Your Patio Door Screen
Installing a patio door screen is simple with the right tools and a few careful steps. Follow this guide to properly set your screen in place and keep it moving smoothly for years to come.
Tools You’ll Need:
- Dry spray lubricant
- Pry bar
- Phillips head screwdriver
Step 1: Position the Screen

Insert the top of the screen into the head of the screen track.
Step 2: Set the Bottom Rollers

Using a pry bar, lift the bottom rollers onto the threshold screen track.
Step 3: Adjust the Rollers

Use a Phillips head screwdriver to adjust the screws located at each jamb end of the screen. Turning the screw clockwise raises the screen rollers. Turning the screw counter-clockwise lowers the screen rollers.

Step 4: Check the Reveal

The reveal is the space between the screen frame and the patio door frame. Make sure the space is parallel at both the top and bottom. Adjust the rollers if necessary to achieve an even reveal.
Important: If the reveal is uneven, the screen may not slide correctly.
Step 5: Lubricate the Screen Track

Spray dry lubricant along the top and bottom tracks. Slide the screen back and forth to distribute the lubricant evenly.
Important: Only use a dry spray lubricant. Oil-based sprays can attract dirt and debris, which may cause the screen to stick.
