What began as a full home remodel and expansion, resulted in this contemporary home located in Tampa’s historic Hyde Park. This remodel was designed by Marica McKeel Studio MM and built by Robert H. Delafield, Inc. The simplistic design of this job is pleasing to the eye. Clean lines, warm cedar cladding and large window units set this house apart from its neighboring counterparts. This house is the first modern construction project done in the historic Hyde Park. The setting couldn’t be more perfect. The Spanish hanging moss from one majestic grand oak that towers over the home is just that extra detail to make this property even more pleasing.
Large mulled units are used throughout the build, and the bronze window finish is an excellent contrast with the bright white stucco and cedar details. Robert Delafield Construction chose bronze casement, picture, and patio doors from our OceanView Impact product line, which provide enhanced thermal efficiency and protection in the event of a hurricane. The massive 4-panel sliding glass door spans a 16-foot opening, providing seamless indoor-outdoor living between the living room and the outside deck. The many large windows throughout the home allow warm natural light to flood into the house, making the space bright and sunny.
