How to Operate Your Viwinco Slider Window

How to Operate Your Viwinco Slider Window

Viwinco Slider windows are designed with functionality and space in mind. Featuring a cam-style lock with an adjustable keeper for positive locking, extruded pull rails for easy, comfortable operation, and a sash interlock for added security and energy efficiency. Sliding windows offer smooth horizonatal operation, dependable performance, and a clean style for any modern home. This guide walks you through locking, opening, sash removal, and screen removal for your slider window.

Unlocking and Opening Your Slider Window

To operate your slider window, start by unlocking it. Turn the cam-style lock to release the sash, taking care not to hit the lock against the outer sash as you open the window.

A sash stop on the bottom track keeps the sash from opening all the way, which prevents the lock from striking the outer sash. The sash stop can be easily removed if you want to open the window further or take out the inner and outer sashes.

OceanView Impact Resistant windows must be locked to provide full impact protection.

Removing the Sash

Removing the sash makes cleaning both sides of the glass simple. First, remove the sash stop from the bottom track. Then, open the sash far enough to clear the head track jamb at the top of the frame.

Grab the sash on either side and gently lift it straight up into the head track. Then, tilt the bottom of the sash out toward you to remove it.

Depending on size, OceanView sashes can be heavy and may require assistance to remove.

Replacing the Sash

To put the sash back in, tilt the top of the sash into the frame and push it up into the head track. Then, tilt the bottom of the sash in and lower it onto the bottom track.

The outer sash is removed and reinserted using the same technique.

Removing and Inserting Slider Screens

Viwinco Slider windows use a leaf spring screen. To remove the screen, open the screen slightly, then push upward on the bottom of the screen frame and pull the screen out. To insert it, reverse these steps.
