Viwinco Updated Labels and Installation Instructions

Viwinco Updated Labels and Installation Instructions

Labels are crucial to any manufacturing process to convey the necessary information and ensure products are delivered to the correct location. The Viwinco manufacturing process relies on a number of labels, from warranty information to performance data and shipping. On Monday 7/14 we launched a series of changes to our labels and installation instructions to streamline the flow of information and reduce the number of labels used throughout our processes.

Installation Labels

Viwinco Updated Installation Label

The Viwinco installation labels received several updates as part of this project, which lowered complexity in our manufacturing process and provides our customers with all the necessary information in one location. See below a breakdown of the changes made to our installation labels.

1. Updated Guidelines and Safety Information
This revised section now provides additional information regarding installation guidelines and safety precautions while installing Viwinco products.

2. Spanish Translation
The Installation label is now translated in both English and Spanish to improve accessibility while in the field.

3. QR Code Link to All Installation Instructions
This section includes a QR code and URL https://www.viwinco.com/installation-guides/ that will bring you directly to the installation guide page on our website. In addition to this change, we are also in the process of revising all our installation guides by product type to include additional information and provide further clarification and detail on how to install the different Viwinco products. These instructions are also fully translated into Spanish as well. We have completed a handful of these already but are actively in the process of overhauling the others. We will continue to add the new guides to the website as they are finalized but will keep the old instructions up in the interim.

4. Enhanced NFRC Label
We reduced the overall number of labels needed on our products and included more information by adding additional fields to our NFRC labels. On the new NFRC label, you will notice the DP rating is now included. Below that you will see the corresponding Florida Approval to the product—if available. Below that we added additional information to help identify the window, who it belongs to and where it needs to be installed at the jobsite by including: Order Number, Customer PO: Customer Name, Job Name, Window Number and the Window Tag. The window brand and style are also included here to identify which installation guide is needed for the installation.

Shipping Label

Viwinco Shipping Label

The shipping label provides critical information pertaining to the customer and the product being delivered. This is key to ensuring the correct products are delivered to the correct location. We made the following updates to make our shipping labels easier to read and more reliable for hand scanners.

1. Larger Label
Allows for the text to be spaced out and better organized—providing you to find the information you need quicker.

2. Reorganized Order Information Section
Increased font size, spacing and layout on order information, making this section easier to read.

3. QR Code Option
The new Shipping Label QR code is a backup option for loading and PO scanners in case the bar code below is compromised and unreadable.

4. Larger Barcode
The larger barcode is to make scanning the label easier. It is also less-likely to become damaged throughout transit.

Screen Label

We also enhanced our screen labels by enlarging the window number and shifting it to the right-hand side of the label. This allows installers to quickly match the screen to the correct window by matching the window number printed on the screen label with what is now printed on the NFRC label. This will eliminate some back-and-forth when installing screens, especially in projects where windows are similar in size.

We are excited to roll out these changes and to see the positive impacts they will have both internal and for our customers. This label project was part of our Customer-Friendly initiative set earlier in the year where we work to become the Most customer-friendly window and door manufacturer. We look forward to providing more updates as the year progresses.
