This massive 13,000 sqft, Mediterranean-styled home was built right on the bay in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This project features 30-foot ceilings, several balconies overlooking the bay, and a spacious pool that spans the entirety of the back patio. Being in close proximity to the beach, Norfolk and having water access to the bay, this property allows the homeowner to capitalize on all that Virginia Beach has to offer.
Since the house is waterfront and located close to the ocean, the builder decided to choose Viwinco OceanView impact-resistant products, to protect it from strong winds and harsh weather. The window package for the house includes a variety of half round geometrics, mulled on top of picture and casement units with grids, and both 2 and 3 panel patio doors. The house also has standalone picture and casement windows and transoms mulled above casements and patio doors. The large number of windows and patio doors provide expansive views of the bay.
This project was also submitted as an entry for the ICF 2020 Builder Award where it won the Best Unlimited Residential. This award is given to projects built using insulated concrete forms (ICFs). The Best Unlimited Residential Award category is for single-family residential properties that exceed 6,000 sq. ft. of conditioned space.
