Viwinco Updates to Paid Parental Leave
The birth of a child can be one of the most exciting—and stressful—times in a person’s life. Stressful in the sense of adjusting your personal life to accommodate another family member, and wondering how your professional life can be impacted by taking the necessary time off to care for your new child. Instead of being preoccupied by job responsibilities, this time should be focused on bonding with your family and learning to balance your personal with professional life. This is why Viwinco is pleased to announce that we have updated our parental leave policy to a more-forward-thinking approach.
Viwinco’s New Paid Parental Leave Policy
Effective immediately, eligible employees will be provided with up to 4 weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of a child, or placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption or foster care. The paid parental leave pay is compensated at 100% the employee’s regular pay so that they can focus on their family. This will allow for our employees to provide spousal support, and care for their newborns during the early stages of their lives, which offers a variety of benefits to not only the parents, but the infant as well. Research shows that parents who take parental leave show signs of improved mental health. Parental leave can also provide long-term benefits to a child’s social and emotional development.
As a family-owned and operated company, we are happy to introduce this new policy which puts family first. Familial values are one of the core principles that have led to our success over the years and are something that we will always stand for.
