Viwinco 2023 Mid-Year Update
As the first half of the year comes to a close, we wanted to express our gratitude to our customers for their continued support and partnership and to our employees for their hard work and dedication. With 2022 being a record year for Viwinco, we came into 2023 with a lot of momentum and challenges. Now that we are halfway through the year, we wanted to take some time to reflect on our progress and provide you with an update on some of our projects so far.
New Glass Facility Completion
Coming into 2023, the biggest challenge and focus at Viwinco has been completing our new glass facility. As we wrap up Q2, we are excited to announce that the Viwinco New Glass Facility has officially been completed. This has been a significant undertaking by our team, which has introduced a whole new level of complexity and required new skill sets that we did not have prior. The new glass facility incorporates the industry’s latest glass fabrication machinery including our Glaston tempering furnace and Burkle glass lamination line, which revolutionizes the way we manufacture our OceanView impact-resistant products. Overall, some things we are experiencing with the new glass facility are a more streamlined materials flow, remarkable product quality, increased capacity and an overall faster operation.
The machinery, technology, processes and experienced employees in the new glass facility are crucial for Viwinco’s future. We are impressed with the quality and speed we are seeing with the new glass facility and are constantly striving for daily improvements to attain even greater performance. We are always excited to host plant tours of our facility and have had the opportunity to show a good number of visitors around our site over the past few months. Viwinco Performance System – Core Tenets
At the start of the year, one of our internal focuses was to launch the Viwinco Performance System to realign our focus as a company as we look toward the future. One significant piece of this was the rollout of the Viwinco core tenets. The ten core tenets reflect our focuses, behaviors and targets that are critical for our company’s continued success and growth, while guiding us to Be The Best.
Signage for the core tenets has been installed throughout the company, and employees are incentivized to practice the Viwinco Core Tenets by tying a component of our quarterly bonuses to them. As we progress through the year, there will be a continued focus on the Viwinco Core Tenets internally. We have already witnessed remarkable buy-in from our employees and examples of the tenets in action are actively shared weekly with the company through our ‘Wins of the Week’ initiative, highlighting progress, achievements and innovations throughout the week. As we continue to integrate the Viwinco Core Tenets into our operation, you as our customer, can expect to see the benefits as we improve overall! Viwinco Academy
Windows and doors are among some of the most complicated products in the building materials industry. As a window and door manufacturer, we understand the importance of educating our end users on our products, to equip them with the knowledge and comfortability to effectively sell our products. We are happy to announce that we have been working on developing an online training platform in-house. Our training platform—Viwinco Academy—is now nearing completion and we are beginning to look at rolling this out to our users.
Our goal for Viwinco Academy is to establish a strong educational foundation for our customers regarding Viwinco products and general fenestration knowledge. Upon completion, users will have a better understanding of our brands, styles and product offerings. We are still a few weeks away from being able to roll Viwinco Academy out to all our distributors. As we better understand our rollout timeline, we will communicate the details through your Viwinco Sales Representatives. We are excited about the progress being made on this project and look forward to sharing it with everyone!
Looking Ahead
Although we are only halfway through the year, we have made a lot of progress. As we look toward the second half of the year, we remain committed to making daily improvements to provide a better level of service for our customers. There are a number of other exciting things being worked on and we hope to share another update soon!
